Alex Mil, Founder and Chef of Daily Dish Ideas
Founder & Chef

I'm Alex Mil.

No fine dining degree. No fancy plating. Just honest recipes for anyone who actually wants to cook — meat, salads, desserts, and everything in between.

Cooking found me the hard way — through late shifts, empty fridges, and the need to make something real out of almost nothing. I learned by burning things, fixing mistakes, and slowly figuring out what actually makes food taste good: patience, heat control, and never being afraid of salt.

These days my kitchen is loud, a little messy, and always smells like garlic. I don't chase trends or plate things for the camera — I cook the way I'd want to eat if I came home hungry after a long day. That's what Daily Dish Ideas is built on.

My Story

I didn't grow up dreaming of being a chef. I grew up hungry, broke, and tired of eating the same boring dinner five nights a week. So I started cooking — badly at first, then better, then good enough that people started asking for the recipes.

Daily Dish Ideas started as a way to document what I was actually eating: grilled meat, cast-iron everything, big bowls of ramen after a long day. No styling tricks, no 45-ingredient recipes you'll never make twice. Just food that works.

These days I cook for a community of people who want the same thing I did — real dinners, real flavor, without turning the kitchen into a second job.

Questions People Actually Ask

Do I need fancy equipment to cook your recipes?
No. A cast-iron skillet, a decent knife, and a grill (or oven) will cover 90% of what's on this site.
Are these recipes beginner-friendly?
Most of them, yes. I flag the harder ones clearly so you're never surprised halfway through.
Why no calorie counts or diet labels?
This isn't a diet site. It's a cooking site. Eat the food, adjust portions how you like.
Can I submit my own recipe?
Yes — hit the Contact page and send it over. If it holds up on the grill, it might make the cut.
